Case Studies

Guinness Sign

Guinness Open Gate Brewery

Guinness and Jones Lang LaSalle tapped JSS to produce the entire interior and exterior signage package for the iconic brand at the Guinness Baltimore Brewery and Barrel House. Among the numerous signs built was a 24’-0” fabricated Guinness harp mounted over the main entrance and a 14’-0” tall set of “Hollywood” letters on the roof. We are extremely proud to be a small part of the Guinness legend.

NPR Light Tower

National Public Radio

Jack Stone Signs constructed a 54′ tall steel tower for the new Washington, DC headquaters of National Public Radio. The “Icon” tower’s painted tubes were drilled and tapped to hold perforated aluminum panels and glass sheets. The entire length of the tower is lined with colored LED sticks provided by Sansi North America. LED displays by SNA were also installed around the exterior walls as well as the interior lobby.

Verizon Center Sign

Verizon Center

Jack Stone Signs was selected by Sansi North America to fabricate several painted aluminum frames to hold thousands of individual LED panels and sticks. Once each of the 40 crates arrived at our door, each unit was assembled and wired inside of our facility and installed by our team. Once every piece was put together, the result was a collection of seamless displays that rival those found in Times Square.

Virginia Tech

Virginia Tech

Jack Stone Signs was asked to fabricate and install signage for Virginia Tech’s Arlington, VA campus. The aluminum letters are halo-lit while the logo shield is halo and face-lit with LED modules. The acrylic logo face is decorated with translucent vinyl to match the school’s signature color. An aluminum frame had to be fabricated to allow the letters to be suspended over the edge of the building’s glass facade. The result is a floating letterset that compliments the architecture of the new building.

Fresh Meadows Shopping Center

Fresh Meadows Shopping Center

Jack Stone Signs partnered up with Federal Realty and designer DDG for a feature sign at a retail property in Queens, NY. The sign exhibits numerous eye catching traits such as open-faced neon letters with a perforated background, a faux-brick column and a canopy top with recessed lighting. Obviously the sign had to be made in sections so it could be transported to New York. Once it was all snapped together, the final look is anything but ordinary.

800 N Glebe Garage

800 North Glebe Garage

Though the Chevrolet dealership that once occupied the space along with it’s post-modern facade is long gone, the designers with the 800 N Glebe project wanted a vestige of the former architecture which has recently been accomplished. Jack Stone Signs was asked to fabricate an illuminated parking sign that shared the same design aesthetic as the classic facade. What they got is a sign that shares in the homage to a very familiar characteristic of the neighborhood.

Laurel Shopping Center

Laurel Shopping Center

After Laurel Shopping Center was acquired by their new owners, the first thing that had to go was the roadside pylon sign, which had been up since the 1950’s and later renovated in the 1980’s. It seemed another three decades had passed so it was time for a makeover. One of the more costly portions of a job like this was avoided by reusing the original steel supports.
